Marianne Da Costa
Couple and Individual Psychoanalytic Therapist
I’m a couple psychoanalytic psychotherapist, registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council. I completed an intensive five-year couple therapy training at London’s Tavistock Relationships—a leading Centre for psychotherapy and relationship counselling.
I specialise in the psychoanalytic model, meaning I help people make sense of how their past experiences and personal histories can shape present relationships and ways of relating. As often these things are unconscious, I work with you to bring things into consciousness and help break patterns that can feel stuck. The decision to seek couple therapy can be a difficulty step to take, I offer a non-judgmental reflective space to explore a specific difficulty you are struggling with or perhaps you feeling overwhelmed by a number of problems between you.
I welcome couples of all ages, social, cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations. I offer both in person or online therapy.
Issues I can help with include:
Communication difficulties
Parenting concerns
Affairs
Depression or anxiety in one or both partners
Sexual problems
Distressing, repetitive arguments
Disconnect and distance
Anger and conflict
